Hi, I'm Courtney, BSN, RN, NC-BC

​​Some people mistake me as a nutritionist, but that is simply because I know the power of food as medicine.

​As a nurse and health coach with over 20 years of experience in academic medical institutions, I’ve seen firsthand how the current healthcare system often overlooks the underlying causes of disease and dismisses symptoms as mere signs of aging. Too many women are told their struggles with energy, weight, and cravings are just "part of getting older," leaving them feeling unheard and unsupported. I’m here to change that narrative.  I'm here to shout from the rooftops, THERE IS A BETTER WAY TO LIVE!!!

After watching so many individuals become trapped in the cycle of fad diets and fleeting quick fixes, I knew there had to be a better way. That’s why I now focus on helping women leaders—who are exhausted, overwhelmed, and frustrated—find a path to lasting health and vitality both personally and professionally.​

Our health doesn't only impact how we look and feel.  It impacts every aspect of our lives.  Imagine feeling confident in your skin, full of energy and in control of your cravings.  How would this change the way you show up at home or at work?   What would you do today that you have been putting off for years?  What decisions would you make because you are feeling more confident about who you are?

You will become the Hero of your story.  You will find the potential that lies deep within the body system you inhabit.  The changes that we make together will be SUSTAINABLE.  This is the Functional Medicine Difference.  Functional Medicine believes in the healing potential of the human body.  It relies tremendously upon Food as Medicine.  Food is a simple yet powerful tool to either enhance or deteriorate health.  

 Working together we will take a deep dive into your current situation.  We will evaluate your eating patterns, sleep schedule, stress management, toxic exposures and more.  Through this discovery model we will identify root causes of your current healthcare concerns and create incremental steps towards your healthcare goals.     

My Story

There is a better way!

 

Ever since high school I can remember eating horribly.   I knew that  loads of sugar and fast foods were not ideal, and I knew I was supposed to eat more vegetables.  However, willpower and knowledge alone were not enough to change my behavior.  The stress of a high paced critical care nursing job only kept me leaning on food as a temporary comfort to ease the pain.   I was the “lucky” individual to be inhabiting a body that hid the evidence of my poor choices.  On the outside I appeared “skinny”, yet on the inside I was on a runaway train heading towards my family history of diabetes and heart disease. 

 

Through a series of events, having my first child, reading some timely books and a whole 30 challenge, I began to see that there was a better way.   I learned how to live without abdominal pain or the fear of diabetes or a heart transplant.  I found that food could be my friend and a vital part of a healthy future.  

 

Have you been told that your brain fog and low energy are just a normal sign of aging?   Are you expecting to gain 3 pounds per year for the next decade because you are over 40?  Are you waiting for the day when you will get a diagnosis of diabetes or heart disease because your parents or grandparents had it?  What if life wasn’t designed to be this way?  What if there is a better way?
